Toshiba America just signed a lease for 96K SF at University Research Park next to UC Irvine.

Toshiba America will move its electronics components, information systems and logistics companies to the campus.

Broadcom is moving out of University Research Park next year, opening up space for Toshiba to move in. The proximity to UC Irvine is a draw. The 185-acre office park has more than 75 companies on-site with more than 8,000 employees.

Irvine has a vacancy rate of 7.6%, which is the lowest in Orange County, according to CBRE.

JLL senior managing director Louis Tomaselli and senior vice president Steve Wagner repped Toshiba.

CORRECTION, MARCH 22, 8:30 A.M. PT: A previous version of this story had incorrect information about Broadcom. Broadcom plans to leave University Research Park next year. The story has been updated.
