Starbucks Will Have Three Locations in the Empire State Building

Starbucks signed a 600 SF lease for an “express” location on the 33rd Street side of the building. It’ll be the chain’s third store in the Empire State Building, featuring a limited menu and there’ll be no seating. Starbucks has been testing the express store concept elsewhere in the city, at 14 Wall St, where the first one recently opened, according to the Commercial Observer. The customer experience takes a page from Apple’s playbook: a greeter with a handheld device will check guests in and take their order. There are plans in the works for more of the express stores in NYC. [CO]
