NHL Mulling 1 Manhattan West Spread

The National Hockey League is eyeing a 160k SF spread at Brookfield’s 1 Manhattan West.

The NHL has been at its current office at 1185 Sixth Ave since 2007. The league has been on the hunt for a new space for several months, Crain’s reports.

1 Manhattan West, in the booming Hudson Yards district, may reportedly feature an outdoor ice skating rink. Whether that factors into the NHL’s decision to move there isn’t yet known (but we're sure it doesn't hurt).

If the deal goes through, the NHL wouldn’t anchor the building. That distinction went to Skadden Arps when it inked a 20-year deal at the 67-story tower for 500k SF.

Speaking of Skadden, the law firm just closed a 70k SF expansion deal at the building, according to Crain’s. The building’s expected to open in 2019. [Crain’s]
