Related Hires Goldman's Galen to Oversee Hudson Yards

Related Cos. has hired Goldman Sachs co-head Timur Galen as an EVP to help oversee development of the $20B Hudson Yards project. He will be leading development of more than 7M SF of commercial office space. At Goldman Sachs, Galen was co-head of corporate services and real estate, and led the development of the bank's global headquarters, Bloomberg reports. He oversaw company offices around the world with projects in Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Paris and more. Before heading to Goldman Sachs, he was an executive at Walt Disney Co, along with Related COO Ken Wong. The 28-acre Hudson Yards project will feature 17.4M SF of commercial and residential space in a former industrial hub. The city's first Neiman Marcus will open in the neighborhood in 2018, and other committed tenants include Time Warner Inc and Coach. [Bloomberg]
