RECHLER SIGNS GABRESKI LEASE

Finally! After being discussed and referenced for almost 40 years, a plan to redevelop a portion of Westhampton, Long Island's Gabreski Airport will be happening. Above, Suffolk County executive Steve Levy and Rechler Equity Partners' Gregg Rechler shake on a 40-year lease agreement for 55 acres last week. The property will be re-developed into a biz-tech park with 510k SF of new construction, chosen from four developers who responded to the RFP. The move will generate $40M for the county over the lease's life and over 500 year-round jobs on the East End, they say.
