NJ: IOREBA; Dollar Store Domination

The Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association recently named its '09-'10 officers, so we sat down with new president Charles Logan of The Aztec Corporation, who says IOREBA will focus on more electronic information, including a new website, to enhance exposure.
Charles (center, with NJ Economic Development Authority’s Timothy Lizura and Sean Brady) tells us the site features resources for members to highlight recent news, netowrk, and upload bios; IOREBA also created a LinkedIn group to keep in contact between meetings. Combined with a new membership drive, he says that more members means different experiences and ideas. IOREBA has also set up venues for education and networking, allowing more learning from each other. Rounding out the new e-board is Sean, of Cushman & Wakefield's(VP), Jones Lang LaSalle's David Knee(secretary) and Colliers Houston's David Simon (treasurer).
IOREBA will continue monthly meetings and events, such as: last week’s boat cruise around Manhattan with ICREW NJ, featuring NJ head of economic development Jerry Zaro. (Charles and Jerry join ICREW prez Annette Murray above); a joint national event on October 27 with SIOR; its 2nd Annual Urban Developers' Night in Newark on January 25; a state of the economy in Hackensack on February 22; and its popular Developer's Night in Teaneck on March 29. Proceeds from the latter benefit IOREBA’s Scholarship Fund, with money donated to Monmouth University.
