| Yesterday, we joined the National Realty Club for a peek into the world of real estate media. Love or loathe us, attendees had plenty of questions for some of NY’s leading journalists. Empire Capital Partners' Adam Marsh and Northmarq Capital's Tom Graf (NRC prez, third from right) join the New York Times' Fred Eliason, LVM Group PR maven David Grant (moderator), GlobeSt.com's John Salustri, and the New York Post's Steve Cuozzo. The group discussed story pitching, the relationship between advertising and editorial, and legitimacy of news sources, among other pressingissues. Pardon the pun, but they're a vital part of any news story. |
| Also joining were The Observer's Dana Rubinstein and The Real Deal's Stuart Elliott. (Bisnow was also there, but somebody had to take pictures for next day coverage!) The group discussed how online media is changing their jobs, and in some cases, making them more complicated (our apologies). Once the bearer of news, print is now shifting to insight pieces, while online delivers the breaking news. Also what matters has changed—John points out that a smaller deal can be just as newsworthy as the $50M lease was when times were better. |
