Oxford Properties Group has hired Kate Bicknell, a former senior vice president at Forest City New York, to head its New York development arm.

Bicknell’s role at Oxford will be to expand the firm’s New York development portfolio, Oxford said Friday. Her title will be vice president, head of New York development and she will work alongside Dean Shapiro, senior vice president of investments and head of U.S. development.

At Forest City, Bicknell worked under MaryAnne Gilmartin on the development of the firm’s Pacific Park project in Brooklyn and led the development of the Tata Innovation Center at Cornell Tech.

“Oxford has quickly become one of the biggest players in New York development, and I am incredibly excited to join a team working on two of the city’s biggest and most transformative development projects — Hudson Yards and St. John’s Terminal,” Bicknell said in a statement. “I have devoted my career to helping create great new places in New York City, and Oxford provides the perfect platform to take that mission to the next level.”

Owned by Canadian Pension Fund, OMERS, Oxford has partnered with Related on the $25B development of Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s West Side. It is also developing the St. John’s Terminal. Earlier this year, Oxford and Canada Pension Plan entered a joint venture to buy the south development site of the terminal from Atlas Capital Group and Westbrook Partners for $700M.

Since 2010, when it first joined with Related on the Hudson Yards megaproject, Oxford has grown its New York City real estate portfolio valuation to more than $12.8B, according to the company.
