Family Business

Norman Bobrow & Co president Norman Bobrow (center) is a third-gen real estate man—following his grandfather, the late Isaac Muss of Isaac Muss & Sons Development, and his father, the late Louis Bobrow, a Brooklyn, Long Island, and Queens developer. With Norman above are his colleagues and the family’s fourth generation: nephew David Badner, son-in-law Michael Jacobsen, cousin Alex Muss (more on the Musses below), and son Zev Bobrow.

Norman founded his firm in 1980 in his early 20s. Its 331 Madison Ave office houses 30 brokers, and it has done more than 5,000 deals, most recently for Jane Goldman, daughter of investor Sol Goldman. The tenant rep firm has one listing it's handling on behalf of the owners, Southampton’s 6,700 SF former Post Office. Louis bought the property, at 39 Nugent St in the luxury retail district, in 1975 and left it to 16 heirs, including Norman. Bobrow has been marketing it for $5M and just decided to put it up on Auction.com, where bidding, Aug. 11 through 13, starts at $750k.

Alex is the great-grandson of the famous New York, Long Island, and Florida builder Alexander Muss. Alexander's son, Stephen (Norman's cousin), built Seacoast Towers in Brooklyn (above) and in Florida, country village homes in Bayside and Long Island, and the Quayside community in Florida.

We’d love to see more family pics! Send ’em to amanda.metcalf@bisnow.com.
