We were also on hand as top economic development leaders—Deputy Mayor Robert Lieber (second from right) and Empire State Development CEO Marisa Lago (with New York Building Congress prez Dick Anderson and the New York Times' Charles Bagli)—addressed NYBC's breakfast forum at the Hilton. Marisa discussed the stimulus, and countered the notion that development's not going on, pointing to the Javits Center and Columbia University 's expansions. Robert adds that New York will emerge from this downturn stronger, especially with infrastructure investment, diversification, job creation, and business retention efforts.
