In the monolithic concourse connecting Newark Penn Station and the Gateway office buildings, C&K Properties is making its space under Gateway II stand out. Kevin Collins tells us his company has placed a 12k SF art gallery in vacant retail space, rather than leaving it dark, though the gallery can exit quickly should the space lease. C&K also opened a pop-up exhibition called "Wind Up Wonderland” (a nod to Alice in Wonderland) in the concourse itself on Tuesday, and it runs through June. He says the pop-up helps passersby place themselves in the long concourse, and amenities like this and the monthly jazz concerts C&K hosts with WBGO 88.3FM create an identity for the building, he says.
