COCKTAILS WITH CCIM

On Thursday, we dropped by the Times Square Heartland Chophouse & Brewery to join CCIM members, fresh off of a day of training on Site To Do Business’ website. PropertyPolitics.com’s Wayne D’Amico (center, with Daniel Gale Sotheby’s John Magnani and Bentoncorp’s Bobby Willis) was one of the trainers. John and Bobby tell us they’re respectively vintage guitar and golf enthusiasts. (Bobby’s favorite courses include Bethpage, Douglaston, and Hudson Hills.)
Davis Commercial Realtors’ Stuart Davis, Gillooly Associates’ Henry Kirk, and SRS Real Estate’s Erin Grace. Stuart just opened his second office at Turnpike Plaza, 197 Rt. 18 in East Brunswick, NJ, which he had previously represented on the leasing side. Henry’s working on 30k-unit apartment deal in East Rutherford, NJ, while Erin’s out leasing 400k SF of retail for Duke Realty. (She can’t say where, but leaves us with bated breath on the major anchor deal she says she’s about to sign.)
Did you hear that CCIM’s New York metro chapter is going to start its own marathon to compete with ING? Not really, but the group boasts a lot of avid runners (and here are a few). Best times: Universal Mortgage’s Howard Abrams, 3:28; Great American Brokerage’s Paul Fetscher (chapter prez), 2:21:04; Stuart Davis, 4:59:57; and MetLife’s Jim McCormick, 2:50:54. Check Paul's stats: 271 marathons, including Berlin during Germany’s unification; first American to compete in Russia, where he placed 2nd; six national championships; and he was on the cover of Runner’s World in ’78.
Pacific Properties’ Ed Gottlieb, attorney Marianna Vayner, Corporate Construction’s Catherine Jallim, and Corporate Commercial Realty’s Harvey Kolin. Ed, who owns and manages retail properties near universities like SUNY Oswego, was just named to the board of trustees for the Greenwood School in Putney, VT. Catherine tells us her firm's been busy as general contractor for the Renaissance Hotel renovations in Manhattan.
