AN EVENING WITH LIREG

We stopped by the famed Garden City Hotel on Thursday and found 145 members of the Long Island Real Estate Group, including First Development Corp.'s David Einbinder (LIREG prez), First American Title's Elizabeth Joyce, Westerman Ball's John Westerman, The Engel Burman Group's Steve Kreiger, and Saturn Realty Partners'Richard Cohn. It's a kick-off to a busy summer for LIREG, including a golf outing in July, a five-day run in August, and its numerous charitable endeavors for groups like Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York and St. Francis Hospital.
Weber Law Group's Morton Weber, Advantage Group's Joseph Willen, and Farrell Fritz's Peter Curry and John Racanelli. He's involved in Riverhead Resorts and the Triangle project in Huntington, among others, and says the latter is going to the town board this week.
Sutton Alliance's Susan Iadarola, Louis Lefkowitz Realty's Charles Alter, Optimus Business Solutions' Ramona Kleemann, and J&S Risk Planning Group's Jay Kantrowitz. Susan tells us that she's working on a “rather large” Wal-Mart in Pennsylvania (though has anyone seen a tiny one?) and will be heading to Memphis World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest later this month (she's not a cook, but loves babyback ribs). Ramona spent the weekend taking a Donald Trump seminar on real estate investment.
Washington Title Insurance Co.'s Joe DePietro, Westermann Sheehy's Leonard Ridini, AXA Advisors' Anuj Rihal, and Intracoastal Abstract Co.'s Maria White and Clifford Gelbard. Title folks and realtors alike could raise glasses to market activity— business picked up with the recently expired federal homebuyer tax credit, and prices are now beginning to level, Maria says.
