The newly formed Exchange Place Alliance Special Improvement District and Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop celebrated the opening of EPASID's new farmers market outside of Mack-Cali's Harborside 5 on Tuesday.
The market, which will offer area residents and workers fresh, seasonal items from local vendors like Stony Hill Farms, Gina’s Bakery, Taproot Organics and Pickles & Olives, will be open every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Dec. 19.
In addition to the farmers market, the EPASID — led by president Michael DeMarco, who is also CEO of Mack-Cali — will organize regular street fairs, art shows and exhibits, a food truck festival and an annual Jersey City Seafood Festival. It plans a number of capital and public space improvements throughout the area, including informational kiosks, public restrooms, seating along the waterfront walkway, additional Citi Bike stations, and WiFi and charging stations.
EPASID's board leadership includes Mack-Cali executive vice president Christopher DeLorenzo (secretary), SJP Properties CEO Steve Pozycki (vice president), Roseland Residential Trust president and chief operating officer Andrew Marshall (treasurer), Ward E councilwoman Candice Osborne, Weichert Realtor's Andy Siegel and Hartz Mountain Industries president and chief operating officer Gus Milano.
