Continuing our "Favorite Things" feature, Commercial Properties director of property management Lisa Harryman tells us her team uses the Floorplanner app together with laser measuring tools and a square footage calculator, a huge time saver. (Her team manages 131 buildings comprising 5M SF across the Phoenix metro.) Another she’s looking at is Geotab software, a GPS tool that tracks the firm’s maintenance vehicles, fuel consumption, idle times, and engine issues, allowing the firm to cut down on gas and other costs. To interact with tenants electronically, Commercial Properties recently upgraded its Yardi accounting software to implement the tenant portal. While tenants have generally embraced all-electronic, Lisa discovered a surprising trend: They often prefer receiving property announcements via phone. The firm has found the Ifbyphone app a great alternative to send voice recordings to tenants.
