WiFi, Conference Rooms Are Top Amenities In Multifamily Developments

The appeal of easy online access is not going offline any time soon.

One of the most attractive amenities in multifamily developments is free building-wide WiFi and almost 60% of builders have included it in their projects in the past 24 months, Building Design + Construction reports.

Conference rooms and individually metered utilities tied for a close second in a survey conducted by Multifamily Design + Construction Magazine, which found that approximately 48% of builders who participated in the questionnaire were including these features in their upcoming developments.

Smart technology is catching fire as well with many developers surveyed noting a jump in the implementation of electric vehicle charging stations, fiber optic service and smart home systems in their projects.

Others are getting in on the co-working space trend with an estimated 27% saying they are testing out innovation centers in their new buildings. Co-working is a trend that continues to gain momentum as workers are increasingly expected to be available to work around the clock.
