There’s nothing like an international admirer to boost a building’s self esteem. A prominent DC asset—the Wardman Tower condo redevelopment at the Marriott Wardman Park—got a $52M infusion from an affiliate of North American Sekisui House (NASH), a subsidiary of Japan’s largest homebuilder, property docs show. (Above, NASH prez Satoshi Yoshimura with former Loudon Country supervisor Lori Waters at a groundbreaking a few years back.) JBG and CIM Group own the hotel and have been hunting for investors to redevelop the property’s historic tower into condos for months. We wonder, will other projects get jealous and start courting foreign suitors?
