Just two months ago Gov. John Kasich and Paul Misener, Amazon's vice president of global public policy, announced expansion plans beyond the $1.1B Big Data network in Central Ohio. This expansion would bring roughly 1,000 jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars. Now a proposal for state tax incentives through Ohio Development Services Agency reveals plans to invest $225M on a project in Licking County that would create 2,000 jobs, double its initial projection, Columbus Business First reports. JobsOhio recommends a 15-year, 75% job creation tax credit of $17.5M. Amazon already has an incentives package from host cities Dublin, Hilliard, and New Albany to develop the three data centers in Central Ohio.
