Why Drones Are Changing The Way You Shop For Real Estate

Aerial photography, through drones, is giving brokers a whole new way to show off sprawling properties. The practice is common in other countries, and now the National Association for Realtors has written up a set of guidelines on their use domestically, Fast Company reports.

NAR attorney Stephanie Spear says the demand for drone photography comes from one simple truth—huge properties and facilities look better from the sky than the ground.

The only alternative to drones is helicopters when it comes to aerial photographs, and it turns out those can be a tad more expensive and less convenient.

The Federal Aviation Administration currently allows commercial drone use after complicated registration—but expect drones to become more widespread as the FAA streamlines its process. [FastCompany]
