About 15 shop owners at San Pedro’s Ports O’Call are preparing to sue the Port of LA.
At issue is their planned eviction due to the redevelopment plans for the new San Pedro Public Market.
While the shops are scheduled to be displaced temporarily, shop owners are concerned about where they will go in the meantime.
Officials with the port said store owners were given more than a year's notice of the plans, the Daily Breeze reports. The Port of LA is attempting to help them find new temporary locations.
Their eviction is scheduled for Oct. 2.
Construction on the San Pedro project is scheduled to begin as soon as late next year. The first phase of the development is scheduled to open in 2020.
