Outlet Mall Planned for Irwindale Speedway

The city unanimously approved plans to raze the speedway and allow Irwindale Outlet Partners to build a 700k SF outlet mall on the site. City officials claim the outlet mall will add more than 5,000 jobs and bring in $2.6M in sales tax revenue. Development is expected to begin next year, reports the Daily News.
