After nearly two years of delays, it looks like work on the Hollywood Target is about to resume.
The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously last week to allow construction to start again. However, area residents hoping to shop at the Hollywood Target shouldn’t breathe a sigh of relief yet, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The La Mirada Avenue Neighborhood Association continues to oppose the project, with one member saying the issue will be headed back to court and the city taken to task for not accounting for an environmental impact report stemming from the alterations made to the height ordinance.
The city council adjusted the height requirements in order to allow Target to resume work.
A judge had previously ruled in favor of the neighborhood association when its members filed a lawsuit alleging the LA City Council approved the project despite a height limit of 35 feet in the neighborhood. The new Target is slated to be 74 feet tall. [LAT]
