Reon Roski, Managing Director/Board Member, Majestic Realty Co

Reon Roski started on the legal side after a judge she worked for told her she was a good negotiator and would be good in real estate law. After stints at law firms such as Allen Matkins and Glaser Weil, she transitioned into Majestic Realty Co, the largest privately held developer in the US. What motivates her? She loves the game and is a deal junkie. What keeps her up? Analyzing the many factors (including the economic health of tenants, the economy and development data) to determine where we are in the real estate cycle. “Real estate is a wonderful industry for women,” she says, “as it allows for a great balance between work and family.” She’s a mom to triplet sons and a daughter, whom she loves taking on adventures around the world. Some recent stops were Italy, Myanmar and Uganda.

Theresa Jones, Senior Managing Director, Hackman Capital Partners

Hackman Capital Partners senior managing director Theresa Jones focuses on the transactional side of the firm’s real estate and equipment business. After graduating UCLA, Theresa met Michael Hackman while working with him on the political campaign for one of his friends. She joined Hackman Capital in 1994. She runs transactions for the firm, including negotiation and closings for sales and purchases, fundraising and investor relations, financings, JV partnerships and transitioning assets into operational management. She encourages women to join the industry and thinks being a woman in a male-dominated field is more of an advantage than a disadvantage. Theresa enjoys spending time with her wife and three children (who are 12, 9 and 9), watching professional and her kids' sports, baking, reading and running. This year she completed her first marathon in Big Sur, CA, which was listed as the country’s most beautiful, and she wishes she had turned the page to see it also was the hardest!

Emily Nochez, Project Executive, Pankow

Pankow project executive Emily Nochez had a desire from a young age to work in the architecture, engineering and construction industry. While studying structural engineering in college, she did a summer internship, working on a high-profile construction project. That’s when she realized she loved the dynamic, fast-paced intensity of being on a construction site. Today, she most enjoys working with a large team to build successful construction projects. She says she likes that the construction industry is “tangibly rewarding.” An especially gratifying project was leading the completion of a design-build hospital project in LA 10 years ago. She says the workforce is aging, and young people are not as interested in the trades or construction management, creating a challenge for the industry. Emily suggests women entering the field find as many internships as they can in construction. Aside from her work, Emily loves to travel, go camping and spend time outdoors with her husband and two young children.

Carine Mamann, Senior Director, Cushman & Wakefield

Carine Mamann has specialized in high-street retail at Cushman & Wakefield for the past 10 years. Growing up in Beverly Hills and combining her passion for both fashion and real estate has helped pave the way for her career. She’s a member of the board of the Friends of IDF, helping to raise money for the young men and women of the Israel Defense Forces, as well as focusing on bringing awareness to the community on myelfibrosis as a result of her dear friend having just been diagnosed with it.
