Pen Factory In Santa Monica Charges Ahead

Lincoln Property Co and Clarion Partners are joining forces to convert an old Papermate Co manufacturing facility in Santa Monica into creative offices known as the Pen Factory (Olympic Boulevard and 26th Street).

The development will have 222k SF of office space and a 700-car parking lot. The property’s façade will give a nod to Papermate by incorporating marks that look similar to lines drawn by pens, according to Urbanize LA.

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is designing the project, which will have an open floor plan, skylights and a courtyard entrance in the center of the building.

The development is across the street from the Metro Expo Line’s 26th Street/Bergamot Station, which is opening this month.

The Pen Factory is scheduled to be completed in 2017. [ULA]
