Kilroy Airport Center Long Beach took a BOMA International TOBY Award last night for Suburban Office Park - Mid-Rise.
The center, built in 1988 and owned and operated by Kilroy Realty, is on 50 acres and features amenities including an on-site café, a fitness center, car wash and detailing services, high-speed internet and redundant fiber optics, according to BOMA. Made up of seven buildings totaling nearly 1M SF, the business park has outdoor walkways and distinctive landscaping.

The awards ceremony was an opportunity for outgoing chairman Kent Gibson (right) to recognize the association's three regional members of the year. Among them was Brookfield's David Foley, who has served as general manager for Ernst & Young Plaza, 777 Tower and FIGat7th (the latter a 2016 International TOBY contender in the retail category) in Downtown Los Angeles. There, David has directed real estate operations, business continuity, security and life safety and critical infrastructure environments. As chair of BOMA/Greater Los Angeles' BOMAPAC committee, David also helped increase fundraising from $10k and five sponsors in 2013 to $52k and 35 sponsors in 2015.
The 2016 BOMA International Conference & Expo was held at the Gaylord National Harbor Hotel in Washington, DC, where 3,000 attendees and 450 exhibitors convened for general and education sessions, networking, regional breakfasts, and to learn about the latest and greatest in building operational technology and services. This was BOMA International's second-largest event since 2007.
