The Da Vinci fire, which was confirmed last week to be arson, has forced massive LA law firm Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith to relocate, according to the LA Business Journal. The 275-attorney firm has signed a short-term lease for 215k SF at the US Bank Tower, the tallest building in the city, the Journal reports. The fire spread to the 221 N Figueroa building where the law firm had its HQ.
The fire on Dec. 8 destroyed the 526-unit development from Geoff Palmer, which has been less than popular in the city. Residents have complained about its fortress-style and massive size, in addition to a proposed pedestrian bridge connecting buildings in the complex (Geoff was worried about how residents would deal with homeless people under the freeway). The development was to span an entire city block and total 1.3M SF.
