The Latest on The Vermont

While tooling through mid-city, we snapped this of The Vermont site (SE corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Vermont Avenue) and were reminded that last May Jerry Snyder began construction on LA's first big apartment development following the recession. Yesterday, we chatted with some of thefolks at JH Snyder Co for anupdate.Crews are getting ready to pour the 14th floor on the west tower next week, according to construction guys Pat and Joe Irvine. SVP Kacy Keys saysthe project--two towers totaling 464 units--is on schedule to open in May 2014. The developer's also leasing the project's ground-floor retail component, and the company hasseveral LOIs from tenants.

Here's another shot, taken from the Bisnow blimp. The development's a partnership with Washington Capital Management and aims to achieve LEED certification.
