London’s West End Unlocks Brand’s Global Strength

London’s iconic West End was deemed the go-to destination for international brands looking to open flagships, strengthen global brand identity and expand international portfolios at a MAPIC panel.

CBRE’s  global executive of EMEA (its retail occupier team), Mark Burlton, said London is a springboard into other markets as London’s West End is recognised globally as being one of the best locations for retailers to prosper. Burlton says he is constantly in discussions with retailers looking to take space in the West End. “On the international side, brands truly understand the value of having a store, especially a flagship store, in the West End, despite the higher rents compared to other London locations.”

The ongoing placemaking and investment in public realm by New West End Co, and the opening of the Elizabeth line (Crossrail) at the end of 2018, are expected to boost the already strong area.
