Jacob Loftus’ General Projects has been appointed developer of a project that will see a former printing press and gin distillery in Clerkenwell converted to office space targeting the creative sector.

General Projects will convert 132 Goswell Road, formerly known as Laser House, into a new 76K SF office scheme designed by BuckleyGrayYeoman. It will include 5K SF for small and medium enterprises, and overall the building will be extended by 26K SF.

Family-owned investment company Northern & Midland Holdings is the owner.

The new scheme will include an infill building built between two existing buildings that will be able to host events and exhibitions.

Loftus was previously head of the U.K. for Resolution Property, and led schemes such as the conversion of Triton Court into the hip Alphabeta building.

General Projects’ schemes include converting One Poultry, a building at the heart of the banking district in the City, to a 110K SF trendy office scheme leased to WeWork.

The development is expected to commence in January with completion expected by Christmas 2020.
