Follow the Carbon Footprints

The Beck Group joined the American Institute of Architects’ 2030 Commitment to create a carbon neutral environment. The least youcan do is reuse today's  Bisnow  as wrapping paper. (Since we're digital, enclose that iTunes gift card in between two laptops.)

Beck sustainability director Betsy del Monte will be one of the expert panelists at our Dec. 15 Sustainability Summit. Here with her rescue dogs, Maddy  and Rusty, she says Beck's already implemented four required action items on operations and within one year will provide an action plan that demonstrates how the goal of becoming carbon neutral will be met. Beck ranks No. 9 on TexasConstruction’s Top Green Contractors for 2010, based on its $203.4M of green revenue reported in 2009. Betsy says every project Beck does, whether seeking LEED or not, will have a basic level of sustainability, including recycling construction waste. This event will be good for those who want to relive their college days: Betsy is adjunct faculty  at the Lyle School of Engineering at SMU, where she teaches a grad program in sustainability. Make it happen at our Dallas Sustainability Summit on Dec. 15. Sign up today.
