First Cypress-Area Brewery Sets Soft Opening Date

Wicked Boxer Brewing

There is good news for beer lovers in Northwest Houston. Local small-batch brewery Wicked Boxer Brewing has set a soft opening for Saturday with a grand opening to follow in late January. Cypress residents Jamie and Brian Cain said they have a vision for a relaxed neighborhood brewery where kids can play and dogs can socialize with their four-legged friends.

The brewery is about as local as it gets. Funding for the build-out came from a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $10K. The brewery's owners have been doing the work by hand and documenting it on social media. To give back to the local community, Wicked Boxer has partnered with Houston Boxer Rescue to help raise funds and host adoption events. The brewery will also partner with veteran-owned businesses in the area.

The original plan was to open by mid-December, but Hurricane Harvey and permitting pushed back the date. Now beer lovers are mere days away from Cypress' first brewery opening its doors.
