Texas' Most Expensive High School Stadium Debuts

After nearly two years of construction, Katy ISD's $73M Legacy Stadium made its debut under the Friday night lights. It is the most expensive stadium in Texas, but it is far from the biggest. The 12,000-seat capacity is far behind Mesquite's Memorial Stadium, at 20,000, and Fort Worth's Farrington Field at 18,500. What the stadium lacks in size it makes up for in quality. The stadium includes a 1.5K SF Jumbotron and private boxes rentable for $1,500. The stadium was designed by HKS of Dallas and VLK Architects of Fort Worth.

Legacy Stadium was approved by voters as part of the 2014 bond to provide Katy ISD students a multipurpose second stadium. The stadium will benefit the 77,000+ students enrolled in the District.
