The new facility will house the building of transmission and substation structures. When complete, Race Rock’s Waller County campus will span 100 acres and 750K SF of interior space.

The company's existing Brookshire fabrication facility has a 287K SF shop on 32 acres at 7007 FM 362, according to its website.

Race Rock manufactures and distributes products for the utility, highway and energy markets. The new facility will supply products essential to the country’s infrastructure needs and create jobs for 500 skilled workers, according to a press release.

“Our commitment here is more than just the construction of a new manufacturing facility. It’s our pledge to our customers and our employees,” Race Rock CEO Donald Young said in a statement. “We have a reputation for providing products with outstanding quality delivered on time. The new facility will enable us to continue that legacy into the future.”

Orizon Industries founded the Brookshire operations in 1988, and Race Rock acquired them in 2025.

The project is expected to be completed in early 2027.

The company said it chose Brookshire and Waller County for the new facility because of their rapid growth, citing construction of single-family and multifamily residential, as well as retail, medical and manufacturing facilities.

Tesla leases a 1M SF building at Empire West Business Park, a 4M SF industrial campus in Brookshire.
