State-of-the-Art Hospice to Break Ground

Three Square Design Group and Camden Construction launched design-build of Harbor Hospice, a 24k SF state-of-the-art hospice community in East Houston. (Above, we snapped Three Square's Jackie Rye,Jake Donaldson,Vanessa Ortega,Katherine Rorie, and Michelle Huertas, with what we call a Crayola 64-pack for adults.) Itwill house 32 beds and an adjacent 5,000 SF outpatient facility. Three Square's Cindy Donaldson tells us the two firms are developing an efficient prototype that will be used across the Texas-Louisiana region--Harbor Healthcare System has two similar (but smaller) facilities under development in Jasper and Lake Charles.

She says the challenge is designing within the strict Department of Aging and Disability Services nursing facility requirements, regulating things like minimum room size and specifics on food prep facilities. Look for groundbreaking on the Houston and Jasper sites in Q3. Three Square is also working with PinPoint Commercial and Thrive Senior Living on four assisted living facilities in for permit and under construction in Texas and Florida.
