Skanska Releases Capitol Tower Renderings

Skanska announced plans for Capitol Tower, the facility that will replace the Houston Club building. Rendered above, the tower will be 34 stories and 700k SF. The entrance will switch from Rusk to Capitol Street to face the new light rail line. Groundbreaking is TBD.

The building will feature a plaza designed to integrate the street and tunnel levels and create a vibrant pedestrian gathering place. (Good news for amateur street accordion players?) The idea is to improve the tunnel experience with more natural lighting and greenery. Gensler is handling design of Capitol Tower.
