Houston's First Energy Star Apartment

The Retreat at Shadow Creek Ranch, the first Energy Star multifamily complex in the metro, is accepting its first tenants. The Pearland property, now 20% complete and finishing in July, is being developed by McCann Realty Partners and managed by Pegasus Residential. Its part of CenterPoints Energy Star Low-Rise Multifamily program, which provides developers with financial incentives that meet Energy Star requirements. McCann is using 14.5 SEER A/C units, Low-E double pane vinyl clad windows, and additional insulation in its 370 units. (Our windows are also vinyl-clad, but only because we threw our albums against them when The Police broke up.)
