Ease of transit isn’t just for urban cores, Realty Capital Management managing director Richard Myers tells us. His firm’s planned 174-unit apartment development, the Lofts at Red Mountain in Glenwood Springs, will have it, too. With its location near Glenwood Meadows and the Glenwood Springs trail system, which leads downtown and other locations, the property is designed to be walkable in a way that’s more often seen in more dense metro areas. (We're all for walkability, but is anyone taking into account if the area is danceable?)

“We’ve found that walkability is our most important amenity,” Richard says. “It’s even more important than our swimming pool or gourmet kitchen.” The Lofts at Red Mountain will also include 5,800 SF of retail and restaurant space, so some things will be a very short walk. There’s also a bus stop in front of the project, Richard says, so residents will be able to take a bus all the way to Aspen if they want. The units will range from 500 SF to 1,250 SF, and rents will start at $1.90/SF.
