Take one, and action! Harwood International's Saint Ann Court made its TV debut last month as the setting for a Fox pilot. The Uptown office tower is in such demand that it opened last fall 70% occupied.

Harwood marketing director Jessica Young (right), with development and leasing VP Jihane Boury, says producers for “Lonestar” toured the 320k SF Saint Ann Court and fell in love with the sleek design, choosing to stage several scenes featuring Jon Voight in its 26th floor penthouse last month. Additional scenes were filmed in the  57k SF occupied by Boston Consulting Group including a party scene, Jessica tells us, with some of the building tenants and local CRE folks getting in on the action as extras. Jessica portrayed an exec's wife and Jihane portrayed a champagne-sipping oil exec.

Saint Ann Court is the sixth Harwood building—out of 17 planned phases—in the 17 city blocks of Harwood, Dallas' newest district. Harwood Intl. relocated its corporate offices to the 26-story Class A building this spring joining two anchor tenants, BCG and Amegy. In Uptown since 1984, Harwood's first building in the area was the Rolex Building. Jihane says many refer to the man with the vision for the area, Harwood CEO Gabriel Barbier-Mueller, as the "Mayor of Uptown.” Harwood's condo project, Azure, opened in 2007.
Under construction next door is the historic St. Ann's School renovation, which will serve as the Saint Ann Café, Bar, and Garden Lounge as well as The Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection, Jessica says. Much of the school's history is being incorporated into the structure and the windows on the east façade are being expanded to bring the inside out for a patio effect. The museum will be located on the second floor, which will house Ann and Gabriel's samurai collection (one of the largest worldwide). Jihane says Harwood's plans include creating a more  livable urban area and several mixed-use projects are in the planning phases with a goal of bringing in retail to give the Dallas community more choices and places to go at night.
