Miller's Jim Turano represented the tenant. *** Jones Lang LaSalle's Fort Worth landlord leasing team secured five leases totaling 49k SF in Fort Worth on behalf of several property owner clients.

| Development Coppell-based CiCi's Pizza plans to add 500 restaurants in the next five to six years. To that end, the firm hired Bill Spae and Nancy Hampton to drive the expansion of the over 600-unit company. Bill brings more than 30 years of experience as a president, CEO, investor and franchisee to his position as chief development officer. Nancy, a 20-plus year restaurant veteran, will serve as chief marketing officer. She brings experience from Chili's Bar & Grill and Corner Bakery Cafe and most recently ran her own consulting firm. Bill's team will seek out developers and potential franchisees, particularly those interested in multi-unit agreements. Additionally, the plan targets nontraditional locations, like airports. Through recent market and demographic research, the company has identified these prime areas for expansion: the Inland Empire, Chicago, Upstate New York, Philadelphia, Miami and Phoenix. *** | |
| Hillwood broke ground last week on the next phase of its 2k-acre Heartland residential community in Kaufman County. Construction includes 111 lots on 20 acres and is scheduled for completion by year's end. Homes will be built by D.R. Horton, History Maker Homes, and J Houston Homes, and will range from $115k to $180k. Heartland—located on the south side of Interstate 20 at FM 741, approximately 20 miles southeast of downtown Dallas—has been the most active community in North Texas for the past year with 246 housing starts. Over the past 18 months, Hillwood also has developed more lots in North Texas than any other development company. Hillwood has also developed lots in its Twin Creeks community in Allen and 78 lots at its Heritage community in Fort Worth since 2009. Hillwood recently purchased the 468-acre Rocky Creek Ranch residential community in West Austin. The community already has 151 completed lots and can accommodate another 241. Rocky Creek Ranch will open in the first quarter of 2011. | |
| People on the Move Justin Spooner has been named executive director of The Stayton at Museum Way, Fort Worth's first life-care seniors living community. Justin's making the move from senior living management at The Stayton's sister community, Querencia at Barton Creek in Austin, where he has served as associate executive director since 2007. He began working in seniors living in 2002 when he was an operations associate at SQLC's strategic partner,Greystone Communities. From 2004 to 2006, he was director of resident services at Edgemere in Dallas. The Stayton at Museum Way is under construction now in Fort Worth's Cultural District. Kudos Crescent Real Estate Holdings' Trammell Crow Center became the company's first affiliated property to receive LEED certification, earning LEED Silver-EB, making the building one of only eight properties in Dallas and 44 in Texas to receive LEED EB. |
