Field 1 – Golub 10, Klein’s Corporate 0: Klein’s continued its season-long hitting slump and managed four hits in the lightning shortened game. The Goos, on the other hand, pummeled the ball mercilessly. It looked like home run derby. Standing out was Jim “Jimmy Mac” McIntosh, who striped three liners including a home run ball he stretched into a triple.

Field 2 – Retailers 8, Bradford Allen 8: In a DRESL first, this nail biter ended in a tie that could really complicate final standings. At 8-8 going into the top of the 5th, retailer defense picked a guy off first and had one out to go to solidify a win. But the commish called it, ending in a soccer tie. Hitting stars for the retailers included Eric Hussey going 3-3 and Chris Matthews also 3-3, with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Field 3 – Inland 12, Cresa 0: Inland was the recipient of a gimme as Cresa’s bus broke down between downtown and North Avenue.

Field 4 – Eastdil 7, MB Real Estate 3: Tim Pettit (above left), Jack Wold, and Patrick Thompson all went yard on the MBRE defense in the only game that lasted the whole seven innings, given the weather. It took MBRE three innings to get through the 10-man lineup, an indication that they did not come ready to hit. Rust was evident given this was their first game in three weeks.

Field 5 – Transwestern 14, CTK Chicago Partners 6: Transwestern transformed, notching its first victory of the season. It busted CTK out in the 4th inning with a 10-spot highlighted by Ben Barron’s titanic blast. Raj Desai had three hits and Adam Schneiderman got his first W on the hill.

Field 6 – CBRE 7, Cushman & Wakefield 1: CBRE didn’t have an error on defense, with Pete Marino having several put-outs at short. Matt Freese smoked a homer over the left fielder. CBRE is showing late season grit as it tries to separate itself from the bottom of the Salbego Division, and a win over C&W is impressive.

Field 7 – DTZ 7, Colliers 4: Colliers had some unhappy campers because of the rain and the inability to play more than two and a half innings. Bright spots for the team were Zack Weiner going 1-1 with a three bagger and two ribbies and Reed Adler with a dooblay and the other two ribbies.
