Jon Stewart Mum on Charlotte Site Selection

Site selection isn't an exact science. Bisnow wanted to ask Jon Stewart why the Daily Show is renting space in ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center during the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte in September, but the TV personality didn't return our calls. Instead, we talked with Charlotte Mecklenburg Library spokeswoman Cordelia Anderson about the space, which includes a children's library, theater, and other facilities. Cordelia said she can't speak for the show, but did note that parts of the center are adaptable enough to house a TV studio and that the location is right: the convention will be only a block away. The 12-day rental of ImaginOn will generate more than $94k for the library and the Children's Theatre of Charlotte, which jointly operate the facility.
