The Aston Villa Fc Directors Lounge, As Re-Thought By Nick Leith Smith

The Aston Villa FC director's lounge has made it onto the shortlist for an award as the world's best-designed restaurant.

Designed by South London-based Nick Leith Smith, the lounge is one of 257 global projects in 34 categories short-listed for the award celebrating the best food and beverage spaces from around the globe in all types of environments, including hotels, transport, business, culture, leisure and retail.

The only other short-listed Midlands entry was Bear, Derby, in the bar or restaurant in a heritage location category. The designer was Turnerbates.

Now in its 10th year, the 2018 awards received more than 900 submissions from the U.K. and 70 other countries.

The winners of the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards will be announced during a ceremony at London’s King’s Cross on 4 October 2018.
