RaceTrac Parking At 200 Galleria—For Now

RaceTrac has secured a new HQ space. For the time being.

Sources tell us the Atlanta-based convenience store chain is in talks to ink a lease for an unspecified amount of space at 200 Galleria (here), just a few months after hitting the market with an RFP with Colliers International. But the deal is a stopgap. Sources say the retailer is looking to anchor an unspecified new office development in the Cumberland/Galleria market, but needed a place to park in the midterm as its lease at Cumberland Center IV was expiring.

This has been one of Atlanta's more watched office RFPs since RaceTrac is one of its largest private companies in the US, with revenues in excess of $8B last year. RaceTrac has been on a growth spurt in recent years as well, now operating more than 350 RaceTrac and RaceWay convenience stores in the Southeast. And that, in turn, has led to RaceTrac outgrowing its offices. RaceTrac's Russ Jobson and Jeff Kelley, who have been leading the retailer's office search, declined to comment for this story.
