One of Atlanta's most prolific office developers is moving forward on a BeltLine-adjacent project.

Portman Holdings filed permits with the city of Atlanta earlier this month to begin site work at 667 Auburn Ave., a parcel abutting the Eastside BeltLine Trail at the intersection of Auburn Avenue and Irwin Street, across from Krog Street Market. The permit, filed Sept. 2, only seeks to remove trees, grade the site, and install water and sewer infrastructure and landscapes.

Portman plans to develop an $85M, six-story office building with outdoor spaces, Urbanize Atlanta reported. The building, 667 Auburn, would have 12K SF of balconies and ground-floor retail in an effort to attract technology tenants, Portman Vice President Mike Greene told Urbanize.

This is the latest Portman project in Atlanta, including Midtown's iconic Coda tower and the Anthem tower in Tech Square. The firm also is pursuing two other Midtown mixed-use developments. Greene said Portman planned to break ground on the BeltLine project by December with a 16-month development timeline.
