An RFP was prompted by the firm's recent acquisition of Heartland Payments. And while its lease at 10 Glenlake runs though 2021, the firm simply ran out of space there. But instead of vacating it, the move represents a compromise, where Global Payments can apparently move its C-suite staff as well as high-paying positions (average annual salaries of the jobs headed to Buckhead top $200k, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle) out of Perimeter and into the city, where many of the metro area's top fintech companies have been flocking in recent years. It's unclear how much space Global Payments will maintain at 10 Glenlake, but it currently leases 170k SF.

Sources say Global Payments is in talks to re-lease its HQ space at 10 Glenlake, where it will keep much of its back office operations. This is the latest iteration in the Global Payments RFP that hit the market earlier this year. As we previously reported, Global Payments—represented by Savills Studley's Chris White—is in talks with Tishman Speyer to lease up to three floors at the up-and-coming Three Alliance tower. Those talks received a financial boost when the City of Atlanta offered a $75k grant from its Economic Opportunity Fund for its plans to invest $18M and bring 150 jobs to Three Alliance, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
