Is Global Payments Close To Announcing Its New HQ?

A giant among Atlanta's fintech scene has at least two of Atlanta's newest office towers on its radar. Global Payments is considering Three Alliance Center in Buckhead or 4004 Perimeter Summit in Central Perimeter to house the company's new HQ, numerous sources tell us. It's unclear what other office buildings are being considered. We first reported an RFP issued by Global Payments where the firm is hunting for some 200k SF, fronted by Savills Studley's Chris White (on right with Cushman & Wakefield's Telly Fathally). Officials with Tishman Speyer, Seven Oaks Co, Global Payments and Chris all declined to comment.

The potential deal comes when many of Atlanta's fintech community have been migrating into the city, lured by the promise of young talent who want to work close to home. As for Global Payments—which just completed its acquisition of Heartland Payment Systems—it simply ran out of space at 10 Glenlake, where it uses 170k SF. While its lease expires in 2021, sources previously told us it has a termination clause it could exercise. And whether all of Global Payments moves or portions of the company split between Central Perimeter and Buckhead (where Three Alliance is fast underway at 100% spec) remains unclear.
