WHAT'S THE DEW DOING NOW

We don't know what the future holds, but we quickly snapped this picture of 1627 Peachtree  because Dewberry Capital  has it under contract. That's right. Another quarterback sneak  is in play.

 

After the firm, headed by John Dewberry, purchased the former Campanile tower (now called 1155 Peachtree) in a headline-making move, it now plans to purchase the smaller—and empty—45K SF office building at the border of Buckhead and Midtown from John Hunsinger & Co., according to info supplied by Databank. The pending purchase price was undisclosed and John Dewberry didn't reach us before press time.

Carter's Kirk Diamond  and Brad Haertel also have something to celebrate in the Campanile deal. (Above, we choose to believe Kirk is showing us his effort was a "home run," not showing us the door.) The duo helped Georgia's Own Credit Union to renew and expand to 102K SF in a 10-year deal at the property. ?It went very quickly,? Kirk says. The lease was part of the larger purchase of Campanile by Dewberry Capital, which paid about $36M for the tower with a loan from Georgia's Own. Kirk says officials with the credit union reached out  to John Dewberry when they heard he was bidding on the tower—the credit union's home since 1993. Ridr Knowlton brokered the deal for Dewberry.
