And it looks like Weingarten Realty wins the horse race for the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center. The Texas retail developer has entered final negotiations with the City of Atlanta's economic development arm, InvestAtlanta, to buy the civic center and 19 acres of land for $30M.
In turn, Weingarten plans a $300M redevelopment—razing the performance arts hall—to make way for 380 apartments, 20 townhouses, a grocery store, retail and 250k SF of office.
