| College kids have better things to do than visit mom and dad, especially if they're living in residences built by Choate Construction, one of the largest contracting firms in the Southeast. Choate is working with North Georgia College & State University (one of the nation's six senior military colleges) to renovate/develop five student housing facilities on campus (civilian housing shown above). The project will bring over 1,384 beds. Choate recently completed the third phase of Campus University of West Georgia's privately-owned,off-campus student communities, which contains 10 garden-style apartments situated around a resort-style pool and 7,300 SF clubhouse. Not to mention a cyber caf , plasma TV lounge, fitness center, sand volleyball, picnic areas, and sundeck (is this college or Club Med?). Plus, Choate just completed 400k SF of additional student housing (1,400 beds) for Middle Georgia College. Kinda makes you wish you were a freshman again… maybe.
