| Snapping Midtown's striking skyline at the IABC party reminded us of one $64K question: Will Alston & Bird leave One Atlantic Center (tallest tower in photo) and Atlantic Center Plaza (smallest) for a new tower? Atlanta's largest law firm has engaged Daniel Corp. to help assess its options. A move would give Alston Managing Partner Richard Hays a little separation from his brother Robert, who heads rival King & Spalding, anchor of 1180 Peachtree (shiny building next door). Insiders doubt Alston will add to the office glut by anchoring a new tower. Of course some of these same ?insiders? said King & Spalding would never consider leaving downtown for Midtown. |
